Mods,
I have noticed half a dozen huber vrbg's for sale for 3200. Some have really good descriptions. The ads seem to completely disappear in a couple of days. Were these all scams? There is one right now that seemed to pop up right when another 3200 dollar vrbg disappeared.
Its wierd its always 3200.

It's probably spammers who have been reported by members, checked by mods and locked out. When we lock them out, the ad(s) disappear so no one will be duped by them.

If the Priority Mail came from Tracy Carr at Manchester Packaging Co. it's fraudulent. If you enter the tracking # into the USPS web site it will not be found.=========================I recently got an e-mail from them, nothing about banjos.Just letting me know my account was in danger of being suspended.Since I do not HAVE one, I was not worried.

Originally posted by obxpixHere is something that would help. Especially for the scammers posing as buyers. Make it easier for us to search the person that is emailing us….put there username in the email that they send us so we can more easily look them up.
I think that would be an excellent idea, however, if you receive an e-mail from them, there's not much we can do to force them to use their username(s). We mods don't have authority to make those kind of changes and it would take Eric making that kind of decision. You might put your thoughts in a post in the improvements and suggestions forum.
It would help us mods a lot if people would report user names (and a lot do) so we could quickly check to see if they've been locked out.
I was thinking that the change be that when you email through the hangout your username automatically be in the email and it could also be hyperlinked where it could be clicked on to go directly to that person’s page. With the amount of scammers now ruining his marketplace I would think Eric would be open to it. Can you guys put in a request to him?

l like the idea. I'll try to do that tomorrow (after my dentist's appointment).
Just an FYI, this "Mark Sheng" person has several new email addresses. Very easy to spot him as a scammer, but here's his new email addresses just in case anyone gets one (I was just contacted by him today):
delianiz111@gmail.com
2twonow@gmail.com

Did he by any chance give you his username? I just locked out 2 that joined mid-morning (after I left to take my dog to the vet). They were Greatest and Flowers. Might be the above?
Thanks for letting us know. It does help get rid of them.

Yep, just checked, and it looks like both emails were associated with the "flowers" username. The guy is prolific, but is easy to spot at least.
Two weeks ago I was scammed by Jackkiog, now his account is blocked.
He used email:
jackkiog59@gmail.com
aberrant@aol.com
aberfan81@aol.com
This last email on Paypal point to Christopher Hoff
banjohangout.org/classified/99648
...and now you can enjoy the price increase from thee initial $499 to the new price...much more legitimate I'm sure!
What b.s.

He was locked out yesterday afternoon. I had been off the internet most of the day, but he's locked out now.

But it would be easy to make someone have a minimum number of posts before they can advertise for sale.....many forums do that. Something needs to be done or people are going to use the classifieds less and less...
Received a response from Mark Sheng for my Stelling Golden Cross posting. He offered to send me a cashiers check for the full amount and allow the check to clear before I ship. The email address is shengmark041@hotmail.com.

He's a thorn in our side. Every time we lock his account, he opens another one with another name, another IP. He didn't deactivate it.... but I certainly did and will continue to do so.
Hopefully, some day he'll get tired of being locked out and of members not falling for his speil and he'll leave us alone.
