impatiently waiting

Posted by erinmeola on Friday, December 21, 2007

Well my GEO. C. DOBSON VICTOR (1880's) arrived safely.  It looks amazing to me.  I am so ready to play it.  I have had to work a lot lately so I had my husband drop it off at the local music shop to send it off to a professional in the area to change the stings, place the bridge, look at the neck angle, and make sure everything is as it should be (because I am clueless!)  My hubby said that everyone at the shop was blown away by the condition.  It came with vinyl stings, which I am not used to.  I was worried that I would have to keep vinyl stings because they put less strain on the neck or something like that, but he was told the neck looks perfectly straight and said I should be able to use steel strings no problem.  Waiting for a call from the pro to confirm that.  He will not be able to look at it until after Christmas.  While I completely understand and would not want him to use time during the holidays working on my banjo... I am also really anxious to get it back home.  I guess I will have to wait!

Coool! Enjoy! At first I thought 1880 was a typo :-) Your husband resembles a guy who used to be on my wrestling team :-) Merry Christmas and have fun with the "new" banjo! Dave Peterson
