Sound

She is a real sweetheart all the way up the neck. A bit brighter than I care for from a Mahogany Banjo but very dry and hollow. Superb sound.

Setup

Needed a tail, strings and a complete setup.

Appearance

She is beautiful, Nickel in great shape and a Gold Kulesh ring peeking out from under the head.
The inlays on every R&T I've seen are beautiful and this one is no exception.

Reliability

So far not a problem. Tuners are good everything is in place and stays there. Shes sturdy.

Components

The Gold Kulesh ring needs a tight head to open her up but once you're there she responds to the slightest touch with ease.
The frets are a bit smaller than I like, I'm giving serious thought to having her completely refretted.

No question this is a great banjo and I would miss her if she were gone. I'd try and replace her with another R&T (same vintage) if I could find one. She will be my festival and travel JO, sweet and beautiful, completely unique sound.

I may put a Fults tailpiece on it to see if the sound can be enhanced a bit and of course the Emerson bridge.

The only banjo I've played and liked more is a 1935 RB-3. I will play this Banjo for a very long time.
