Sound
The best sounding old-time banjo I've ever played. Very full tones on the bass string and bright but not piercing on the top strings. A very well-balanced sound. |

Setup
Banjo came nicely set up. Action is medium, I'd say--very easy to play up the neck and everything is in tune. I wouldn't recommend any setup changes. |

Appearance
This banjo is beautiful. Greg is a truly fine woodworker. The curly maple neck in particular is a piece of art--it's simple, elegant, and solid. This banjo has a beautifully designed and expertly applied inlay on the peghead, and Gotoh tuners with black buttons that really work nicely with the overall design. The bridge is really cool, too. Like a good sailboat, airplane, or bicycle, this banjo is a functional work of art. |

Customer Service
Here is another area in which Buckeye Banjos shines. Buying an instrument from Greg was a pleasure--he's friendly and really wants you to be satisfied with what you're getting. He throws in a free tee shirt, too. |

Greg's prices are really good for such high quality instruments. I know there are a lot of really talented builders out there, but I can't see where anyone has anything on Buckeye Banjos, and when you add in the relatively low prices, Greg's banjos can't be beat. It's the best banjo I've ever played. I love it. |
