<description>The most basic of questions. Do I attach a Banjo strap to the &quot;J&quot; hooks? Just picked up a Deering Goodtime for my fifty first B-day.
 Please advise.

<description>Got my sample issue and liked it so well I subscribed. Thanks for a GREAT publication. I still can't play a lick (well maybe a couple) but the BNL is so informative and tabs are great.......and just think if you subscribe you don't have to order back issues for tabs LOL

Thanks,

<title>Sail Away Ladies</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/pages/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=127918</link>
<description>A tab of the traditional tune Sail Away Ladies is provided in the October, 2008 Beginner's Corner Column of Banjo NewsLetter. The solo is taken from my first break on the track from my new CD, Rapid Transit. I tried to keep it basic to allow others to try it. At the same time, I focussed on keeping it driving, through the way I attack the notes, not merely trying to play it fast. A sound clip is posted at my Hangout Home Page and also at the CD section of my website: www.eddiecollins.biz

<title>Simplified Salty Dog</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/pages/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=98589</link>
<description>The November 2007 column of Banjo Newsletter shows a way to play the melody to Salty Dog that is easy enough that most beginners will get it instantly. The approach is to take out syncopations and tricky passages and strike the melody notes exactly as the singer would sing them.

The solo is taken from my book, &quot;Bluegrass Jammer's Top 10,&quot; which has 10 solos/back-ups in this simplified/play-along format.

See the Books section of www.eddiecollins.biz for more info.

Happy picking, Eddie

<title>Bill Monroe Tunes For Banjo</title>
<author>eric@banjohangout.org</author>
<link>http://www.banjohangout.org/pages/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=84537</link>
<description>Pickers,
June '07s Banjo NewsLetter article attempts to address the apparent lack of information about how the songs of the Father of Bluegrass can be played on banjo. The focus this month is on his vocal tunes. The solo Molly and Tenbrooks is beyond a basic beginner's level, but offers insights as to how Scruggs style is appropriate for such tunes. Let me know if you have any questions. Happy picking,
